DR. JASON BEARD

OWNER/DVM

Dr. Beard grew up in Frankston, Texas, attended Tyler Junior College and Texas A&M before graduating from TAMU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. After 9 years of mixed animal practice, he purchased Hide-A-Way Small Animal Clinic in 1999 in order to focus on companion animal care. He and his wife Kathy (a Lindale native) were married in 1988. They have 2 daughters and a menagerie of pets.

KATHY BEARD

OWNER/ LICENSED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

Kathy graduated from Lindale High School prior to receiving her Veterinary Technician license from Sul Ross State University in 1986. She has gained extensive experience in the veterinary field from private practice to TAMU Veterinary Teaching Hospital to State Diagnostic Laboratory as well as a lab technician in a human doctor’s office. Most of her time at Hide-A-Way Small Animal Clinic is consumed with management duties but she also operates an in-home pet-sitting business as well as Pets & Friends Pet Crematorium.

DR. KRISTIN HAILEY

DVM

Dr. Hailey received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 from Texas A&M University. A fun fact about Dr. Hailey is that she is a third generation veterinarian, following in her great grandfather and her father’s footsteps.

She enjoys all aspects of her veterinary medicine and truly enjoys the special bond she shares with her clients and their pets. Dr. Hailey and her husband, Ryan, have two precious daughters, Kacey and Kinsley, They also have three dogs: Jake, Jinx and Frankie, and two cats: Louie and Gus. They enjoy spending their free time spoiling their girls, playing at their family ranch and traveling any chance they get.

SARAH

PRACTICE MANAGER

I’m Sarah and I’ve been with HAWSAC since 1999. I graduated from Houston Baptist University with a B.A. in Marketing and Business Management and married my husband Ken, in1982. That was a good year! We love Lindale and are blessed to have our daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandchildren living right up the road in Van. Sunni and Pumpkin are our furry family members who are always ready for a treat. Hide-A- Way Small Animal Clinic is a great place to work; good friends, doggie kisses, kitty purrs and lots of smiling faces every day; who could ask for more.

SUE

CLIENT CARE SPECIALIST

Hi, my name is Sue. I am a Texan by choice. My husband and I moved from Ohio to be closer to our daughter, son and families. We love spending time with our 5 grandsons. I enjoy greeting our clients and meeting their pets.

SAMI

CLIENT CARE SPECIALIST

She grew up in Utah on a farm with a wide variety of animals. She and her husband, Brandon, moved to Texas in 2019 and have fell in love with the area. They have four dogs and four cats that they adore and spoil beyond measure. She enjoys speaking with clients on the phone and getting to see all the new puppies and kittens who come in!

MARLA

VETERINARY ASSISTANT

Marla has been a part of the HAWSAC family since July 2020. She attended Texas A&M University in college Station, TX where she received her BA in Anthropology and a minor in entomology. After working in Alaska for a couple of months after graduation, she decided to move back home to Tyler, TX to work in the veterinary field, which she loves. At home, Marla lives with her four cats Sylvester, Gatica, Lukas, and Peaches and her three dogs Frida, Foxy, and Tuti. Marla looks forward to getting to know all the sweet clients here at HAWSAC and all of their precious pets!

KAREN

LICENSED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

Karen Has been a part of the HAWSAC family since December 2018. She attended Cedar Valley College in Lancaster, TX where she became a certified small animal assistant and then transferred to Tyler Junior College to complete the Vet Tech program in 2018. Karen passed the VTNE in 2019 to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Shortcake, Luna, Bubbles, and Feo are her four fur-babies that complete her family. Karen “looks forward to meeting you and your precious animals.”

AARON

VETERINARY ASSISTANT

Aaron started working as a kennel technician in the summer of 2017. He graduated Tarleton with his bachelors in animal science in 2018 and has been accepted into the A&M College of Veterinary Medicine where he will begin courses in August 2021. He has one dog named Juneau who lives with him at home. He loves working with animals and looks forward to working with more as a Veterinarian in the coming years.

KYLIE

VETERINARY ASSISTANT

Kylie joined the HAWSAC team as a Kennel Technician in 2019. She has 2 trouble making chihuahuas, Missy and Tinker, that visit the clinic on a regular basis. She does everything she can to make sure your fur babies are comfortable and spoiled during their stay at Hide-A-Way Small Animal Clinic.

SYDNEY

VETERINARY ASSISTANT / KENNEL TECH

Sydney has been a part of the HAWSAC family since 2021. She was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ but moved to Lindale with her family in 2015. She then graduated from Lindale High School in 2018 and went on to fulfill her dream of taking care of animals. Sydney is enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program at Penn Foster and plans to finish/receive her license in 2024. After getting her license Sydney plans to continue working for HAWSAC but would love to get into more exotic animal care. Sydney can not wait to meet all of you and your fur babies!
